Abstract: A sodic soil reclamation model is developed based on the electric double layer (EDL) theory. The computed EDL thickness (Beta ) being very small in comparison to the interparticle distance, with reduction of there is insignificant increase in the hydraulic conductivity. Simulation results indicated that the sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) is reduced to acceptable level (SAR<13) only up to a depth of 0.3 m with infiltration of 10 pore volumes of gypsum solution in a fine loamy soil.
