Abstract: A sodic soil reclamation model is developed based on the electric double layer (EDL) theory. The computed EDL thickness (Beta ) being very small in comparison to the interparticle distance, with reduction of ï¢ there is insignificant increase in the hydraulic conductivity. Simulation results indicated that the sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) is reduced to acceptable level (SAR<13) only up to a depth of 0.3 m with infiltration of 10 pore volumes of gypsum solution in a fine loamy soil.
