Survey on disease severity of mulberry (Morus alba L.)in
different seasons of Aizawl district (Mizoram)

Abstract: The severity of diseases of mulberry in 3 villages (Khamrang, Dilkhan and Seling) at the Aizawl district of West Bengal, India, was studied. The incidence of powdery mildew (Phyllactinia corylea [P. guttata f.sp. alni]) was greatest in October and least in March. Leaf rust (Peridiopsora mori) severity was greatest in November. A low incidence of Myrothecium leaf spot (Myrothecium roridum) was observed in June-August and April. The climatic conditions in Aizawl appeared to be favourable to the development of powdery mildew, rust and Myrothecium leaf spot in mulberry..
