Abstract: The effects of B fertilizer rates (0, 4 and 6 kg/ha) on the performance of 10 wheat cultivars (HD 985, HD 2997, HI 1563, NW 4035, PBW 343, HUW 234, DBW 51, NIVT 2969, NW 2036 AND DBW 52) were studied in Nadia, West Bengal, India, in 2007. B application had no significant effect on the number of grains per spike. The increase in grain weight due to B application was significant in all cultivars except NW 2036 and DBW 51. PBW 343 and NW 2036 may be used as parents for the development of high-yielding genotypes..
