Abstract: The inhibitory activities of protein extracts from 22 maize cultivars classified as resistant, moderately resistant or susceptible to Aspergillus parasiticus were evaluated against the fungus under laboratory conditions. The protein extracts of resistant cultivars significantly inhibited fungal growth. The protein extracts from moderately resistant cultivars exhibited lower levels of inhibition, whereas those from susceptible cultivars did not inhibit fungal growth..
